A Brand-New Deadline for Stop Loss Pay

People, it's like Groundhog Day around here.  Last winter--then last spring--I kept blogging about the extended stop loss pay from the Department of Defense.  It was created to compensate armed service members (and their survivors) who found their tours of duty involuntarily lengthened between September 11, 2001 and September 30, 2009.  It amounts to $500 for each month or partial month that the tour was lengthened.  And I thought, o.k., this is over. But no.

Apparently, there is a new deadline--it's October 21, 2011.  This is for veterans, service members and their survivors.  Please see the webpage link above for more information and how to file for your claim.
