Resources for the Disabled

Today brings some sources of financial help for the disabled. Disability.Info.gov has a page devoted to federal financial assistance, including information for parents of disabled children on how to find funding to help them raise their child, Social Security cash programs, and work incentive programs. And if you look to the right of the page, it has links with state programs, too. The main website has a treasure trove of information on ADA, housing, transportation, etc.

An interesting site that it links to is Kya's Krusade, a resource site for parents of children with physical disabilities. They also offer a small program to help defray the cost of adaptive equipment and physical therapy programs for disabled children. While the program's deadline is done for this year, it seems worth keeping an eye on.
